Malinda Coleman writes: Poetry offers us the pleasure of language played and experimented with, but also can show us things about our experiences that make us feel and understand them differently, more intensely. Inspired by the Shakespearean “seven ages of man”, this collection traces our lives from the beginning to the beginning of the end … encompassing childhood, romance and coupling, parenthood, the challenges of our workaday lives, and the experiences that come along later in life.  The poems I have chosen are from both old familiar authors and many unknown contemporary poets.

It sounds serious! But expect to be surprised …I have been lucky to find an exciting group of readers, relative newcomers Agathe Osinski and James Hogan, combined with favourite familiars: Janet Middleton, Liz Ross, David Steen and Mark Prescott. First rehearsals designed to whittle down the long list of poems I compiled have already shown us something of the delight and pleasure this evening will provide.
