Guidelines for use of the Warehouse

BOOKINGS

warehouse studio theatreAll rehearsal and performance spaces should be booked in advance, by both CAST and external groups, using the www.theatreinbrussels.com website. All bookings should respect the Warehouse Guidelines.

First, consult the bookings calendar available on the website (link to Warehouse – Room Bookings) to see what has already been booked, and when.

Then, send an e-mail to cast.bookings@gmail.com indicating your request.  Please give dates, times, name of production.

Note that even if performance dates in the Studio have been agreed by ACTS, they must be booked by the production – they will not be automatically booked on the calendar.

Productions with performances in the Studio have the right to book the Studio exclusively for one week before opening night.  Before that, the Studio should be available for rehearsal, on a first-come/first-serve booking basis, for any group wishing to rehearse there.

IF YOU CANCEL A REHEARSAL, PLEASE INFORM CAST.BOOKINGS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY DURING TIMES WHEN THE WAREHOUSE IS IN GREAT DEMAND.

Fees for all external bookings will be communicated, along with the standard contract, when the booking is requested.  Usually payment in full, along with a 250 – 500 euro damage deposit (depending on the nature of the rental), is required for all bookings.

PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRODUCERS

It is crucial that the rules below be followed by all cast and crew to avoid complaints from the neighbours and for smooth cooperation with the other groups. Keep the noise levels down as much as possible after a show. If you are uncertain about which rules apply and don’t know whom to contact, check with the chair of your group who will be able to find out the answer for you.

Parking:

The two parking spaces marked “CAST” should ONLY be used by crew loading or unloading props, costumes, set etc. for a show. Cast members should not park in the yard, as we have had several complaints from neighbours in the past. During a run the group in question has priority.

Cleaning and bin bags:

All groups rehearsing on Tuesdays (and Fridays) are in charge of putting the bin bags out in the street before they leave the Warehouse. A cleaner comes on Friday mornings. If a set is up or under preparation, contact annaholmen@hotmail.com, who will inform the cleaner or the person who pays her. The list of those people is on the website: https://www.theatreinbrussels.com/listings/the-warehouse-studio-theatre/fridayrota/
Please note that if you don’t take the bottles from your rehearsal/show to the bottle bank, no-one else will! Your mother doesn’t work at the Warehouse.

Painting of the Studio floor and walls:

If the Studio needs repainting after a show, please use the special black paint in the CAST cupboard in the Committee room. Note that the type of paint is different for floor and walls!
