ITG asbl is proud to announce She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith will be presented 27-31, March 2012 at Palais des Beaux-Arts Studio Theatre.
She Stoops to Conquer is considered one of the best plays of all time. It has been called by many the precursor to the modern comedy. It is a rollicking story of mistaken identities, petty thievery, and delightful deceptions. Two young gentlemen are trying to find their way to the house of a man who has a lovely daughter to whom one of them is a proposed husband. They are told that they are hopelessly lost by the son of the house in one of his grand practical jokes. He gives them directions to an inn which is actually, unbeknownst to them, their real destination. The deception works perfectly and that is just the beginning.
