As it turns out, quite a lot! This April, ETCetera invites you to an unforgettable night of comedy, controversy, and revelations with “What’s in a Name?”, the English adaptation of the smash-hit French play Le Prénom.
Originally written by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière and later adapted for the big screen, this witty, fast-paced play has captivated audiences worldwide. In Jeremy Sams’ English version, the setting shifts from Paris to London, but the themes of friendship, family, and fiery debates remain as universal as ever.
An intimate dinner among close friends and family turns upside down when one guest drops a bombshell: he’s chosen a highly controversial name for his unborn child. What follows is a rollercoaster of sharp wit, shocking revelations, and hilarious misunderstandings, questioning the very foundation of their relationships.
Directed by Janet Middleton, with English and French surtitles. The play will be preceded by Blind Date, a comic two-hander by renowned British playwright Peter Quilter, directed by Hugh Dow
