{"id":4032,"date":"2026-04-05T16:31:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-05T14:31:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theatreinbrussels.com\/listings\/?p=4032"},"modified":"2026-04-05T16:37:27","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T14:37:27","slug":"atc-studio-nights-18-22-april-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theatreinbrussels.com\/listings\/blog\/atc-studio-nights-18-22-april-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"ATC: Studio Nights (18-22 April 2026)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The ATC is holding auditions for the 2026 edition of Studio Nights, featuring two one-act plays:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Together<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by American playwright Willie Fitzgerald, directed by Jace Jasper, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Bench<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by 2025-26 ATC playwriting competition winner Matthew Snoding, directed by Maja Lay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Performances will take place 16-20 June 2026 at the Warehouse Studio Theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Together<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is a contemporary dramedy about love, communication, and the messy work of maintaining relationships. Lucas and Patty, a long-term couple in their 30s, have their relationship tested by old feelings, secrets, and the presence of Lucas\u2019 best friend Ines and Patty&#8217;s artist friend Star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Bench<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is a two-person dramedy set on a park bench, where two strangers discover how a simple act of listening can change the way someone feels about their life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This production will give actors the opportunity to showcase their versatility across both dramatic and comedic moments while exploring complex, deeply human themes. While ages listed below are those indicated in the script, the directors are open to casting in a wider age range as long as there is cast cohesion in line with the needs of the script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Characters in\u00a0<em>Together<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lucas \u2014 mid-30s, a copywriter out of work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patty \u2014 mid-30s, an editorial director at a fashion company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ines \u2014 mid-30s, a stoner working in the service industry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Star \u2014 20s &#8211; 30s, a painter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phyllis \u2014 50s &#8211; 60s, a landlord<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The director is open to actors of any gender for these roles.<br>NB: There is some physical intimacy (kissing) between several characters, and we will work with an intimacy coordinator to ensure everyone is comfortable throughout the entire process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Characters in\u00a0<em>Bench<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Claire \u2014 a woman in her early 30s<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emma \u2014 a younger woman<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Auditions will take place:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Saturday, 18 April, 1:30\u20133:30 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Monday, 20 April, 7\u20139 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Callbacks (if necessary) on Wednesday, 22 April, 7:30-9:30 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Actors will be required to attend 3 rehearsals per week on weekday evenings or on the weekend from the end of April.
