ITG: Faster and Slower 14 & 16 June

The ITG is holding auditions for Faster and Slower by Vincent Eaton, one half of our autumn double-bill of new writing. (On stage 9-13 Oct 2018)

Faster and Slower is a dark comedy set in the near future. An ageing couple spend their time together peacefully, if slightly antagonistically. The arrival of some news creates some unexpected twists and turns…

– a woman of retirement age or beyond
– a man of retirement age or beyond
– a younger woman (under 40)

ECC: Pygmalion (2-11 May, 2019)

Henry Higgins, a professor of phonetics fascinated by dialects and accents takes on a bet that he can pass off Eliza Doolittle, cockney flower girl as a duchess in only 6 months.

Undoubtedly George Bernard Shaw’s masterpiece, Pygmalion is the renowned witty, modern interpretation of the myth, which tells the story of a sculptor (Pygmalion) who falls in love with his own statue (Galatea).

The play will be performed at the Warehouse Studio Theatre, rue Waelhem 69A, 1030 Brussels.
May 2 – 11, 2019 (8pm) matinee show May 4 (2pm).

BSS: Henry V (25-29 June, 2019)

A history play by William Shakespeare

Henry is king now. His days of mischief and hanging around with his roguish friends are over. He now carries the huge responsibility of leading his armies in a war against France and living up to his father’s memory.
It’s a whirlwind of emotions, strategy, distrust, hope and growth.

To top it off he even has to find time for love.

Part of the 1st Annual Shakespeare Summer Festival, come see this play in combination with ‘Mopsa and Dorcas Hit the Town’ / ‘Nadir Nachtmerrie’ and enjoy our Shake-your-Spear Sunday Social as a fun extra.

Inspired by William Shakespeare’s tale of A Midsummer Night’s dream, this tale is turned upside down and takes on a darker feel.
Can this play within a play within a play within a play illuminate anything new on this traditional light and funny comedy?
Smiling from the shadows, Puck thinks so.
